A decision to make
|
Jesus is the only One who can bring us back to God. The Bible
says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,' and
believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved."
How to receive Jesus Christ into your life?
1. Admit you are a sinner and need
forgiveness.
When Adam
sinned in the Garden of Eden, his sin separated him from
God. Now all of his descendants inherited the curse of
sin and death (Romans 5:12-14; Psalm 51:5). As a result
every human being is born a sinner. It is therefore necessary to
become saved.
2.
Repent of your sins.
To repent simply means to "change one's mind or
direction; to have a change of heart." Repentance does not mean "I'm
sorry." It is a decision to ask for forgiveness
of your sins and to be cleansed from unrighteousness (1
John 1:9).
3.
Confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Confession is asking forgiveness.
And to believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God, and He is your
Lord and Savior and He lived, died and was
raised from the dead for the forgiveness of your sins.
If you are ready to receive Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Savior, and the assurance of eternal life-here is a suggested prayer.....
Heavenly
Father, I recognize and admit that I am a sinner. I
repent of my sins and asking forgiveness. I confess with
my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son
of God and He died for my sins. I believe that Jesus
lived, died, buried and was raised from the dead for my
salvation. Today I receive Jesus as my Lord and my
Savior into my heart. And I thank You for saving me this
day. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
What Next?
If you have decided to accept
Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are now born again and
your name is in the book of life. Here are a few things that will help you to grow as a
Christian.
PRAY—prayer is
talking to God. It's important to spend time
talking to Him every day, the more the better
(Philippians 4:6).
READ THE BIBLE—the
Bible is God's Word to man. The more you read
it and apply to your life, the more you'll fall in love with Him (1 Peter 2:2).
FELLOWSHIP—you
need to have friends who share your beliefs and who can
encourage you. This is why it's so important to find a
Bible-believing, Bible teaching church where you can meet other
Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25).
BE BAPTIZED.
What is water Baptism?
Water baptism is a symbolic representation of Jesus'
death, burial and resurrection. Just as He was baptized,
you must be baptized (Matthew 3:13). Your entrance into
the water represents the death of your former lifestyle
(Romans 6:3-11) and your emergence from the water
represents your new
life in Christ.
WITNESSING—share
your faith in Jesus Christ with others (Matthew
28:18-20).
God bless you, and we pray that you
continue to grow closer to the Lord every day!
